Abstract

Academic research involves a systematic way of investigation into real world problems, with the aim of identifying facts that would form the basis of proffering solutions. Research is expected to provide detailed study of a subject matter and communicate findings to global communality.Moreover, research is not only critical to our social and societal development, but,also our Universities’missions. Most research problems today,are multidisciplinary in nature and therefore require expertises,thus, the need for collaborations. Recently, collaborative researches arehighly encouraged. But the fundamental question is “Do we really collaborate and how best can we? ” This lecture will therefore explore the prospects of collaborative research among researchers in Nigeria Universities. During the discussion, wewill highlight ways and how best researchers can collaborate and possible problems encounter with collaborative research based on experiences and lessons from various research groups. Jointly, the session will recommend ways to enhance collaborations.
