The Federal Government vision of transforming agriculture in Nigeria from subsistence to commercial cannot be achieved without significant improvement in level of agricultural mechanization. Agricultural and Bio-Resources Engineering plays vital role in this direction. Agricultural and Bio-Resources Engineering which is under both Faculty of Engineering operate as Agricultural Mechanization Research Programme. Under this programme various improvements in agricultural mechanization such as: postharvest machinery development of some selected crops, agricultural machinery testing and standardization, soil improvement and man power development and training were achieved. To be able to sustain the achieved success, the department of Agricultural and Bio-Resources Engineering is engaged in strategic plan development and implementation in line with the Ahmadu Bello University plan policy.
